Notting Hill Celebrates Carnival 2013

Hundreds of thousands of people descended on west London today for the second day of the Notting Hill Carnival.
Europe's biggest street festival - celebrating Caribbean culture, food and music - opened at 9am with the start of the procession as forecasters predicted temperatures of up to 26C.
Thousands of revellers lined the streets to see the parade of floats and feather clad dancers along the route from Great Western Road to Ladbroke Grove where it was due to end at 7pm.
Thousands more were expected to gather on the streets around the carnival route where dozens of sound systems had been set up.

Today was adults' day of the 49th year of the festival which is expected to attract up to one million people over two days.
By 11am thousands had already lined the streets of Notting Hill to see the carnival procession.

Under the Westway, hundreds attended a party hosted by Red Bull Music Academy, with acts including The Marleys, Bob Marley's sons, Disclosure and David Rodigan.
